Fujifilm announces the XF23mm f/2 R WR lens and the X-A3 compact camera

· 25.August.2016

Fujifilm announced two new products today: the much anticipated Fujinon XF23mm f/2 R WR lens and the X-A3 compact and lightweight selfie-optimised mirrorless digital camera.

Here are the highlights from Fujifilm’s own press-releases:

Fujifilm has announced that it will release the XF23mmF2 R WR in “late September”.
XF23mm F2 R WR is a wide-angle lens with advanced image resolution, capable of drawing out the full performance of Fujifilm’s proprietary X-Trans™ CMOS sensor. The inner-focus AF system uses a stepping motor to drive the focusing group of lens elements for silent and fast autofocus. The metal exterior gives a sense of premium quality and robustness, and the aperture ring and focus ring have been designed for optimum operability. The lens is also weather and dust resistant and operates at temperatures as low as -10°C, making it an ideal choice for outdoor photography. Fujifilm has announced that it will launch the Fujifilm X-A3 in September 2016.
The X-A3 has been perfectly designed to take “self portraits” with a compact and lightweight body. It joins the X Series of mirrorless cameras that offer outstanding image quality with the company’s proprietary color reproduction technology. To enable easy self-portraits, the X-A3 features an LCD screen that tilts 180 degrees without being blocked by the camera, thus helping to maintain 100% visibility. Other features such as Eye Detection AF are designed to improve self-portraits shooting even further, and the new Portrait Enhancer mode includes the option to brighten the skin-tone.
