Marco Debiasi: Dawn in Ala

· 4.October.2015

Today’s image comes from an Italian photographer Marco Debiasi. Thanks for sending it in, Marco!

“This picture was made on 26 September 2013 in Ala, a small city in the Adige Valley of the Italian Alps where my family originated in the 18th century. This picture was taken from the eastern side of the valley just behind the Parochial Church. From there one can enjoy a beautiful view of the city and of the Vignola mountain on the opposite side.

One morning I woke up before sunrise when the city lights were still on. I setup my camera on a small tripod with panoramic head and I took a series of vertical shots while the sun was still below the mountain but already brightening the sky. The focus, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and white balance were all manually set to avoid any parameter variation from shot to shot. The JPEG images were then stitched together using the Photomerge function of Photoshop to make this panorama view.”
