FujiLove Spotlight: Deb Klein

· 24.November.2017

I am Deb. I live in New York City, and will be traveling to the UK for 6 months at the start of the new year. I’ve started a business doing portrait and lifestyle photography, with an emphasis on families and their dogs. My Instagram account and free time outside of work generally reflects less conventional portraiture and political march documentation.

Deb Klein is a member of the FujiLove Readers Group.

TOMASH: What is your favorite camera / lens combination these days?

DEB KLEIN: My favorite (and only camera currently) is the Fujifilm X-E2, which was my first Fuji camera. I mainly use my XF56 f/1.2 for portrait sessions – I love it so much, and it’s more versatile than I imagined. My second lens is my XF35 f/2. Next dream lens purchase: XF23 f/1.4.

What are the three main features of the Fujifilm X Series that make this system so attractive for you?

I would say the lightweight-ness of the system is a huge thing for me – my back and neck suffered under the weight of my previous system (Nikon). Another is the ease of the menu and custom settings. And finally, the community that rallies around the system is like nothing else – such support and encouragement helps me in my work, and in turn I can help others and connect with people all over the world.

What do you think Fujifilm could or should still improve in the X Series?

I do wish for the ability to produce RAW images when in bracketing mode (perhaps later models have fixed this?).

Would you have one quick personal Fuji X tip for FujiLovers? A technical trick or a less known setting we could all benefit from?

I don’t! But I love learning about them from other FujiLovers.

Would you be willing to share with us your “best” photograph taken with a Fujifilm X camera along with its EXIF info?

Sure, have a look:

Fujifilm X-E2 + XF18-55mm f/2.8-4 (shot at 18mm). ISO 500, f/5.6, 1/30 sec.
