Hello Fujilovers! Issue no. 102 of FUJILOVE MAGAZINE has arrived with a whole fresh batch of wonderful articles for you to enjoy. Subscribers, head to the FujiLove Subscriber Area.
If you are not a subscriber yet, make sure you join thousands of Fujifilm X photographers from around the globe and get access not only to monthly editions of FUJILOVE MAGAZINE (includes our Gear Talk supplement), but also access to our FUJILOVE Lens Guides by Jonas Rask and Dylan Goldby, Office Hours video library with Rico Pfirstinger where he answers popular Fujifilm technical questions and more.
Our cover contributor for this month is Katharina Röhler, who takes us on her journey of the ups and downs of becoming a photographer, from being rejected to study photography at university, to discovering an old analogue camera that reignited her past passion, to now working full-time as a photographer on the road.
Next up is Take Kayo bringing us his latest instalment of Take’s Corner with a walk through the history of the X-Pro series of cameras, explaining why the X-Pro3 is his current favourite Fujifilm X Series camera and looking ahead to what we might expect from the next iteration.
Hara Sklika delivers this month’s photo essay entitled ‘On the Shore’, which gives us look into a project she created for her MA in Photography, Research and Methodology that documents the practice of wild winter swimming, capturing her subjects against the imposing backdrop of the sea. Meanwhile, Evan Lewis gives us a long-term review of the Sigma 50mmF1.4 Art EF lens, having used it for a year alongside his GFX50S II to shoot portraits with a film-look.
As usual, we also have our monthly ‘From the Feed’ feature, where we’re sharing four popular images from #myfujilove on Instagram, posted by Andrew Faulk, Łukasz Trzeciak, Tom Brandstaetter and Chris Sammut.
In our FujiLove interview for this month, Tom Deleenheer is chatting to Stephanie Baxter about how his passion for photography is linked to his creative family background, how he got started taking photos with just an iPhone and how he considers the practice of photography to be a mode of escapism. Continuing his article series, ‘Around the World in Photographs’, is Paul Choy, who is taking us with him to Hanoi this month and sharing all the timeless charm of this wonderful city.
We’re also thrilled to bring you our ‘Gear Talk’ section of FujiLove Magazine, starting with Rico Pfirstinger, who continues his article series all about how to expose correctly. Next up, Piet Van den Eynde gives us the first five of ten tips on how to improve your efficiency in Lightroom, while Bobbi Lane concludes her two-part series on the TTArtisan 250mmF5.6 mirror lens. Rounding off this month’s issue is Dylan Goldby who gives us his thoughts on the X-T50 that was released earlier this year.
Happy reading!
