DAY 1 Saturday, October 12

SESSION 1 09:00 - 10:15

Damien Lovegrove "The Portraitist"

In this fast paced presentation Damien shares his thought provoking philosophy and strategies for capturing photographs of people. Hold on tight for 75 minutes of photography gold from one of the worlds most inspiring portrait photographers of our generation.

SESSION 2 10:30 - 11:45

Kara Mercer "Curation A to Z: Taking Your Work & Brand to the Next Level"

This class will focus on portraits, travel, and lifestyle photography. There are huge lessons that can be put to practice in order to grow portfolio and clientele and it all starts with styling your own images.

SESSION 3 14:00 - 15:15

Luca Bracali "Travel Reportage. Landscape, People and Wildlife

A meeting to understand how to create and to develop a travel reportage. There are three fundamental subjects and in each of these, although different from each other, we must be able to develop our creative style.

SESSION 4 15:30 - 16:45

Hugh Brownstone Tribes, Trolls and Transformation. Social Media for Photographers

The allure, power and dangers of social media are profound. But despite the high-tech context for it, the basic premise is as old as humanity itself: community. Join Hugh as he romps through an abbreviated history of social media on the way to sharing his understanding of what social media can and cannot do for photographers in particular – and how to navigate the challenges and opportunities offered by Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.

DAY 2 Sunday, October 13

SESSION 1 09:00 - 10:15

Luca Bracali Videography. The Art to Write a Story with Emotions.

From the carpe diem of a shot in yesterday's meeting, to the making of a video documentary, where images, music and words create a story. Mirrorless, flying cams and action cams, combined together, will show us new points of view.

SESSION 2 10:30 - 11:45

Victoria Wright Discovering Your Creative Voice

In the sea of voices globally (online) and locally, it can feel overwhelming and intimidating to put your work out there, especially when you are just starting out. During our time together I’ll be sharing some of my personal practices, tools and habits you can tap into, while discovering a streamlined creative process that feels authentically you instead of following the crowds — one that enables you to move ahead and help shape your individual brand with the confidence we all seek.

SESSION 3 14:00 - 15:15

Jens Krauer Street Photography. Taken From Life.

Jens Krauer will talk about his approach to street photography and show images from his work during the last four years. He will touch different points that are cornerstones of how he perceives and practices street photography and share insights in his ethics and work philosophy. How to find and capture strong subjects, why black and white vs. color, how to recognize real characters and how to shoot more personal images with candid people photography, as well as how to structure and reduce your work to a core portfolio.

SESSION 4 15:30 - 16:45

Damien Lovegrove Rockstar Shoot

Watch Damien building a series of portraits of an international rock star using the Fujifilm X-H1 and XF18-55mm kit lens. Damien will use a 3-head budget flash lighting system that can be bought for about the same price as the camera kit. In this 75-minutes session Damien will aim to shoot a set of pictures for the artist’s latest album including the cover, booklet shots and a poster shot to promote the live tour.
